Transforming Water, Transforming lives!!

What does it take to turn a community’s health around? It starts with the right tools, the right approach, and a whole lot of passion!

 

From May 6th to 8th, GOOFIRM was part of an intensive training on Community WASH Promoters organized by Research and Development Without Borders. We didn’t just attend; we immersed ourselves in the science of community transformation.

 

Beyond the Surface

Identifying a WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) issue is more than just spotting a broken pump, it’s about understanding the heartbeat of a community. We spent three days mastering how to:

– Pinpoint the hidden hygiene and sanitation challenges that impact daily life.

– Learning that the best solutions aren’t just technical, they’re social. We practiced how to approach communities as partners, building the trust necessary to spark real, lasting change.

– Turning “What if?” into “Here’s how!” by designing community-led strategies that work.

 

Why This Matters

At GOOFIRM, we know that clean water and proper sanitation are the foundations of dignity and development. By sharpening our skills in WASH promotion, we are better equipped to walk alongside communities as they take charge of their own health and future.

We are returning from Buea energized, inspired, and ready to put these new strategies into motion. Big things are coming stay tuned!
