THEORY OF CHANGE / STRATEGIC APPROACH

GOOFIRM’s Theory of Change is built on the belief that when vulnerable communities are equipped with knowledge, skills, and opportunities, they can transform their own lives and contribute to sustainable development.

Narrative Summary

  • Inputs: Financial resources (mainly internal), staff expertise, volunteers, community networks, and partnerships.
  • Activities: Health outreach (maternal, WASH, menstrual hygiene), environmental campaigns, education support, agricultural training, and youth STEM empowerment.
  • Outputs: Increased awareness and access to services; skills training delivered; materials and resources distributed; youth engaged in leadership and innovation.
  • Outcomes: Improved health practices, enhanced food security, better school enrolment/retention, expanded livelihood opportunities, and empowered youth (especially girls).
  • Impact: Resilient, inclusive, and sustainable communities where vulnerable groups thrive socially and economically.
 

Future Plans & Strategic Priorities (2025–2030)

As GOOFIRM continues to grow, the organization is committed to scaling its impact and deepening its engagement with communities. Our strategic direction for the next five years focuses on sustainability, partnerships, and innovation.

1. Health & Wellbeing

  • Expand maternal health and menstrual hygiene programs to reach at least 10,000 additional women and girls.
  • Strengthen WASH initiatives in crisis-affected zones by collaborating with health centers and schools.
  • Develop a community health volunteer network for grassroots outreach.

2. Education & Youth Development

  • Provide 5,000 school kits and scholarships to vulnerable children across the Southwest Region.
  • Establish a GOOFIRM Youth Innovation Hub for STEM learning, coding, and digital entrepreneurship.
  • Scale mentorship programs linking youth with professional networks and career opportunities.

3. Environment & Climate Action

  • Plant an additional 50,000 trees in degraded areas to combat deforestation and climate change.
  • Launch a Zero Waste Community Campaign promoting recycling and eco-friendly practices.
  • Partner with local councils to integrate community-driven climate resilience into development plans.

4. Agriculture & Livelihoods

  • Support 1,500 farmers with sustainable farming tools, agro-processing skills, and market linkages.
  • Pilot a microcredit scheme for women and youth-led agribusinesses.
  • Strengthen food security initiatives through climate-smart agriculture practices.

5. Institutional Growth & Partnerships

  • Build a sustainable resource mobilization strategy to attract local and international funding.
  • Expand staff and volunteer capacity through training in project management, M&E, and advocacy.
  • Strengthen partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, UN agencies, and private sector actors.

By 2030, GOOFIRM envisions becoming a leading grassroots development organization in Cameroon, recognized for its holistic, innovative, and sustainable programs that empower communities, protect the environment, and create lasting impact.
