Women’s Land & Property Rights in Cameroon.

Today, we empowered women and community members in Fako Division specifically in Limbe III, Bimbia with critical knowledge on Women’s Land & Property Rights in Cameroon.

Many women are unaware that the law in Cameroon guarantees their right to own, inherit, buy, and manage property whether single, married, or widowed. Through this educative talk, we highlighted:

✔️ The constitutional right to property for all citizens
✔️ The four legal ways to acquire land: purchase, inheritance, gift, or state grant
✔️ Marriage regimes and how they affect property ownership
✔️ The importance of obtaining a Land Certificate (Titre Foncier)
✔️ Practical steps to protect property and avoid land disputes

We emphasized that a Bill of Sale is NOT a Land Title and encouraged participants to verify land documents through the Land Registry and the Divisional Delegation of MINDCAF in Limbe.

When a woman owns land, she secures her children’s future and strengthens her independence.
At GOOFIRM, we remain committed to building healthier communities through empowerment, legal awareness, and sustainable development.
